Trash pickup and recycling

Where and when trash is picked up depends on what part of town you are in. You do not have to buy bags, but you DO have to buy stickers for your own bags. Each sticker is $2.00 and can be purchased at the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall or many of the convenience stores around town.

There is no curbside recycling in Clinton. All recyclable materials must be taken to the DPW garage on Woodlawn Street, which is open Monday through Friday, 10am to 2pm, and Saturday, 9am to noon.

The items accepted at the center are:

  • Auto batteries
  • Cardboard
  • Glass jars and bottles
  • Magazines
  • Metal cans
  • Mixed paper
  • Newspapers
  • Phone books
  • Plastic*
  • Scrap metal**
  • Yard waste***

* #1, 2 milk, juice and detergent containers only
** Twice a year only
*** Saturday mornings in November only
