Kathleen O'Malley
Candidate for Town Collector
Greetings:
My name is Kathleen O'Malley and I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the office of Town Collector. I have worked in the office for eight years, the past four as the Assistant Town Collector. Based on this experience, I am confident in my ability to keep the office running efficiently thus ensuring that the town remains well served.
I have had the privilege of working with and learning from Bernie Walsh over the past eight years. If elected, I will continue to provide the fair and courteous service that people have come to expect in the Collector's office. I will also strive to continue serving the public interest regarding the protection of public funds. Yearly audits of the Town Collectors office conducted over the past twenty years have always been successful. I will remain open to new ideas to refine business practices for modern and efficient service.
As a life long Clinton resident and taxpayer, I understand the needs of fellow townspeople and I am very much focused on satisfying them. I hope to educate taxpayers to new services the office offers, such as on-line bill paying, now available, and use of the office website which should be available in within two weeks.
I have completed the first year of the Massachusetts Collectors/Treasurers Association three year certification program and plan to become certified in two years. The certification is not state mandated but is strongly encouraged.
I have resided on Auburn Street for the past 26 year, raising three sons here. All three attended Clinton public schools, K-12. Brendon will graduate from Westfield State College in May with a degree in Criminal Justice and report to the US Army boot camp in June. Brian is a sophomore at Westfield and a US Marine reservist. He is tentatively scheduled for active duty this fall. Paul will graduate from Clinton High in June and attend UMASS Dartmouth in September. My parents are Walter (Miz) and Teresa (Murphy) O'Malley.
I ask for your support on May 5. I truly appreciate your vote.
