Stickers Promote Illegal Dumping

Trash stickers promote illegal dumping because most people don't want to pay for trash.  We could clean up Clinton if we offered curbside pickup and recycling at the curb.  I've mentioned this to the DPW and I have been told this is the most economical way of doing trash.  It's short sighted since we are stuck picking up other peoples trash that they have illegally dumped around town.  If people could just bring all of their trash AND recycling to the curb once per week, including large items.... Clinton would be a much nicer place to live.

The trash from last Friday on the Acre, is still here...Not a notice that there would be a pick up on Thurs instead for Friday.....so most is still out there....
I also heard that trash stickers were going up to 3.00 per bag....

Re: Stickers Promote Illegal Dumping

You could always opt for private trash pick up like most people in surrounding towns.  Tully is about $31 per month for 7 bags per week plus can rental.

Pleasant View Landscaping left a flyer on the door this week. $2.25 per bag and you are charged once every 3 months.

Will be making the switch to private trash pick up in the next month or so after investigating some options. Tully's sounds promising.

I also use Gilchrest.  Cheaper than the town pick-up, and I prefer Saturday pick-up.  I've been very happy with them.

I use Pleasant View and I pay approx $54 every 3 months. They always take whatever I put out and I love knowing that they use a facility that sorts the trash for recyclables.

Re: Stickers Promote Illegal Dumping

This is a very interesting post.  Thank you.  I never thought of using a private company.  I hate the pickup time we have, and so this sounds promising.

Tully also uses recycle sorting and they take all of the recycling free of charge.  Just leave the stuff next to your container or bags and they pick it all up.

They also offer a Free month if you pay for a year in advance.   They bill monthly if you'd rather do that.

You can email them to start up service.  They'll ask you how many bags you use per week.  We're a family of 4 and we put out 3-5 white bags. I think they do a lower rate for those who do fewer bags.

They pick my stuff up (near St. Johns Cemetery) around 10am on Tuesdays.  The truck is super quiet.  I usually never know the guy was here.

If you use the, tell them Brenda Sumner sent you (I'll get a little credit) smile

I totally agree.

Free -  well, tax funded - trash pick up will help clean up Clinton. And unfortunately, there's the rub ... tax funded.

Where are we going?....and what's with this handbasket?

I disagree. The recent thread about the bed bugs went off on a tangent about how there is trash thrown all over the place in that complex, and they have free trash pick-up. Some people just don't care.
