WHEAT announces relocation of Hidden Treasures thrift shop

Jim Sheehan, Executive Director of WHEAT Community Services, announces that the Hidden Treasures Thrift Shop, currently at 125-127 High Street in Clinton, will be moving to its new location at 178-182 High Street effective March 2, 2010.

"We have needed a larger space for some time now", Sheehan stated. "The increase both in donations and in customers is welcomed, but in order for us to accommodate this
growth, we realized that we had to relocate. The new space is just what we need: spacious, bright and just down the street from our current store. We will be open at the new location Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 AM through 4 PM. We accept donations during store hours, and we offer pick up and delivery of large items, such as furniture. Just give us a call and we will make the arrangements."

Hidden Treasures offers furniture, clothing, household items and various collectibles at very low cost. In addition, the income from sales helps to support the other programs and services WHEAT offers to low income folks living in Clinton, Berlin, Bolton, Lancaster and Sterling. These include the Community Café at 242 High Street, which offers a meal, free of charge, to anyone who desires it. Dinner is served Sunday through Friday from 5 PM to 6 PM. In addition, the WHEAT Food Pantry at 500 Main Street, provides groceries to families and individuals who need assistance with food. Help with rent, utilities, heat and support in obtaining food stamps, insurance or legal assistance is also available to those who qualify. "All folks need to do to obtain these services is to contact us at 978 365 6349 to set up an appointment with our case manager", Sheehan said.

"We are grateful for the support of our donors, customers and our volunteers who have made Hidden Treasures a vital part of the Clinton community. If anyone is interested and would like to assist in WHEAT's mission of community service, just contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Phyllis Farrell, also at 978 365 6349, extension 20."
