Re: Bests?

Thanks everyone!  smile

I added a few more just for fun.  It's interesting to hear people's opinions and that there places others don't know about.

So far, I'm really enjoying being here and am looking forward to the festivities this weekend.

Re: Bests?

Welcome to town!

Best pizza?    Brother's pizza on High Street

Best Chinese food? Clinton Gourmet

Best Bakery? None really in town,  Gerrado's in West Boylston (20 mins. down 110) is very good.

Best park?  Central Park

Best swimming hole?   Acre Splash pad

Best romantic walk?  The Wachusett Dam.

Best book store?  Scholastic

Best grocery store? Market Basket in Leominster is MUCH cheaper than the in-town stores.   I normally would go to Shaw's for meat, and Hannaford's for everything else if you wanted to stay in town.  I have also heard good things about the new Walmart SuperCenter in Lancaster on Rte. 117

Best place to browse?  High Street has the most stores.  I also love to browse the Tinker's Cart on Main St.

Best place to pick up cheap furniture?  Craigslist- or the Action Unlimited that comes in the mail.

Best place to people watch?   Central Park.

Best place to be easily entertained?    Strand Theatre...any of the bars on a Friday or Saturday night smile

Best locale to overhear gossip?  Your neighbor, Dunkin donuts in the morning, and I agree with Julie...you can hear some serious gossip just standing in line at the grocery store!  haha!

Enjoy!

Re: Bests?

Oh I want to play!...

Best pizza? Brother's Pizza
Best Chinese food? Was Clinton Gourmet but recently I don't like it so I go to Shrewsbury to Chumlees...it is so good!
Best Bakery? Tough one. Take the 20 minute drive to Worcester to the Scano's Bakery
Best annual event? Again, not Clinton but 5 minutes down the road, Sterling Fair (it is going on right now!)
Best general hang out? Old Timer!
Best ice cream?  Sterling Ice Cream Bar
Best greasy spoon? Johns Sandwich Shop for sure
Best park? Obviously, central park.
Best play ground? The one up on the Acre is the best for this kids around here, its cool with the sprinklers in the summer time too.
Best swimming hole? No matter what you do..do NOT go to the State Pool.
Best romantic walk? Park a little past the high school and go up to that part of the dam. It's beautiful.
Best book store? Ehh..probably just Barnes & Noble in Leominster
Best grocery store? We go to Shaws. Everyone always says Hannaford is cheaper but I can get $150.00 of grocery's at Shaws and when I tried Hannaford (for about the same amount or a little less) I spent almost $200.00!!
Best farmers' market/stand/apple picking? Bolton Orchards (great sandwiches too!)
Best place to get a haircut (if you're a child/woman/man)? Ehh...I've had bad experiences. I go to Worcester to a small place, Regina's Hair Salon. She is great.
Best hardware store? Aubuchon Hardware
Best auto repair shop (Saturn)?  Best Buy Gas. They are honest--only place in town that are not crooks and won't steal your money. Try the coffee while you are there, best in town!
Best place to browse?
Best place to pick up cheap furniture?  I just go one Craigslist haha..please don't go to Bob's if you want your furniture to last more than a year.
Best appliance store? Best all around store----Best Buy
Best place to people watch? This is a good one...hmm...I'd say Central Park
Best place to be easily entertained?  This is a tough one...you got me not much entertaining in this town
Best locale to overhear gossip?  Any of the ten million bars. You find out a lot when people have been drinking

Best Coffee Shop: I had to add this. Dozen Donuts. If you are a Dunkin coffee drinker please stop about 200 feet before Dunkin at the Best Buy Gas and go inside (I know people its sooo hard to get out of the car!)...I go hear everyday, its 10 times better than Dunkin and even though you go in...its still faster than waiting in line!!!

I agree with everything Ken said!   Except for the shaving head part.

I get haircuts for myself and my kids over at Fantastic Sams in Hudson.  Wednesdays is $6.99 haircut day smile

As for grocery stores.  I'm a big couponer.. and I can pretty much do damage in any store. LOL
