Re: Now is not the time for the same old same old

I want to be more like Cliff.  Let me try....

Now is not the time for the same old same old.  We cannot go back to the way of doing things that has gotten us into this financial mess. I care for my town too much to let this happen. The current boards of selectman need someone who can get in there and show them a better way of doing things. I believe I am that candidate. I have the proven leadership skills and the diplomacy needed to get things done. Our town is surrounded by towns that are running in deficits. We cannot let that happen here in our town.  I have had to deal with budget situations that called for a sharp eye, a steady hand, and the courage to do what had to be done to make sure financial burdens were met without going into the red. My appoints in this race may have ways of helping our town but time is running out and I believe I am the best candidate to get our town on track again. Help me help our town and together we can get back on track.

Hey Bill ...how is this..

I just felt this should be posted again so the people can see what kind of character Bill Connolly and his Hacks are. This is a post Bill made in an attempt to destroy my character.  As you can see he gets others to attack for him on this thread (TOM C.) and others. We do not need people like this running our town Government. I posted my response to Bill Connollys attack on my character and my serving in the United States Marine Corps, His Hacks once again picked up the slack for Bill to do his name calling and asking of questions that the voters already know where I stand. Nice try Tom C. Like I said before I will take everything you and your other Hacks throw at me. This once again proves the ignorant slim style of Bill Connolly and his Hacks. Tom maybe if you had been more interested in my answers instead of investing a 100% of your time throwing slim for Bill Connolly you would have learned something. You and your hacks do not deserve a place in our town Government. THE PEOPLE OF CLINTON DESERVE BETTER THEN BILL CONNOLY - JOE NOTARO - TOM C and all the other Hacks. I did not drop out of this race like Bill Connolly and  Joe Notaro and you Tom C requested me too... I am in it for the entire fight. For the People of Clinton. I will answer every question at the debate. I refuse to answer questions that Bill Connolly and his Hacks like TOM C. try to bait me so they can continue with there un-successful character assassination of me. I will not allow Bill Connolly and his hacks drag me down to there level, I am working on answers to the tuff problems facing our town. Not investing all my time in getting others to attack my opponents in this race like Bill. This is a election that the outcome should better our town. Lets work on the solutions to our problems. Bill for the sake of our town stop the mud slinging.

BILL CONNOLLY WROTE:

Tom,

I couldn't have said it better. I'm sure Allisons parents are very proud of her, but I'm disgusted. It's disgraceful that Blake would allow a 19 year old to make those accusations on his behalf. He is going door to door (unknowingly talking to my supporters) suggesting that I'm running to gain some benefit for my business. That demonstrates his ignorance of conflict of interest laws. As a Selectman I would not be eligible to bid on town projects that are under the jurisdiction of the BoS! Do you want anyone that ignorant running the town?

Allison is not Ally. Ally is short for Alicia (sp). Ally is a mother of school age children who must have interacted with Tom in the past. I'm sure you can figure out who she is just like I did.

By allowing these people to spread this slander on his behalf Blake is demonstrating his cowardice & lack of integrity. He is a disgrace to the uniform he once wore! Blake; if you want to say something, do it here in public where everyone can hear it. Quit slithering around in the slime. Please tell us all how serving on the BoS will be a benefit for my business. If you can sustantiate the claims that I've made racial comments do it here in the open. Quit hiding behind the skirts of your relatives: Alicia & Allison.

Blake is nothing more than a minor distraction. My opponent is Weeks. He must be really be enjoying this nonsence.

BLAKE RESPONDS:

To: Bill Connolly

I do not tell people what to say. That is there own personal freedom of Speech. If you do not like what others say about you...Then you tell them to stop it. I never called you a racist...That word is not in my vocabulary.  Second of all nice try at trying to destroy my character by making up things you claim others heard me say. I believe you are the ignorant one by trying to pull off this character assassination of me instead of worrying about and trying to come up with legitimate ideas of trying to help the town. Guess what Bill I didn't back out of the race like you and joe Notaro asked and wanted me to...and I am going to fight till the end cause the people of Clinton deserve better then you.

Bill Connolly wrote:

Now you are doing name calling. That's not nice Bill. I believe you have never worn or served your country in any branch of the armed forces? I know you have said your father and brother are Marine's. Good for them but Bill they are not running for selectman you are. I have served as a Police office and also a United States Marine. I do not think a coward could do this. Where were you during Operation desert shield and Operation desert Storm? I know where I was. Were were you when I was marching on the grinder at Paris Island? I know where I was. Where were you when I was working on equipment defending my country from enemies of the United States. I know where I was. Never attack the Marine Corp I love or my service to my country again. When you attack a Marine you attack every Marine , But you would not understand that you never served your country.

I will take everything you and your insider hacks throw at me. I will stand up for the People of Clinton, a vote for Connolly is a vote for ignorance and he has proven this. By attacking a Marine Corp veteran's service it shows him to be un-Patriotic.

Good point RickC.  Correction: The whole thread isn't a joke.  The posts prior to and including this one are not a joke.  However, (and I know you'll disagree Tom) once Tom asked him to bow out and support Bill...

Tom C wrote:

Cliff, I do not know you other than what you have posted online and take you for your word that you entered this race for the reasons you stated and not to keep candidates like Bill out. For that, I respect you very much and hope to see a more active role within town in the future. You appear to have many similar thoughts and visions as Bill. I think votes for you, though, at this time will weaken your similar message and only strengthen the concepts of town government you both so strongly profess to change. I ask you consider the impact a three person race will have for the town and consider stepping down this election and throw your support towards Bill so that we, those who agree with the two of you, come together as a stronger more unified front. I imagine, that as a Marine, this would be difficult to do but a necessary step for us to be successful with the overall cause.  The next election, should we be successful with this step, would be a perfect opportunity to stregthen what we create here today and you could play a larger part within that having allies like Bill rather than tackling issues as one person with a board stacked with four.

Tom C

... it deteriorated.  I can't blame him for thinking Tom C.'s a Bill C. hack.

I will say however that JRW also asked a good question even though he might have been a little harsh on Clifford as one could assume that if Clifford's not a fan of Prop 2.5 and he thinks it should be eliminated or rewritten that he wouldn't support it.

In my honest opinion it spun from here on.

Bill is correct, Weeksie must be enjoying this.

You are right Red, I do disagree.  I think it deteriorated after his continued silence to direct questions followed by new posters supporting Cliff by making racial accusations of Bill.   They campaigned with him side by side each day and he did not say a word refuting these harsh allegations other than cut and paste rhetoric and mention of his past military record over and over again.  Call it what you want, but those are the facts.  It was insulting to me and many of the voters reading this board seeking information.

It was a legitimate debate, an exchange of ideas up until Alycia (Ally) and Allision started with the racial accusations. Remember that they are immediate family members of Blake & like Tom said: they campaigned with him every day! It seems to me that they meet the definition of hack better than Tom C does. Where did they get thier information? Why haven't they substantiated it with proof?

I guess Ally's credibility is in question then, because she previously stated that she didn't Clifford personally.

I agree he's failed to answer one question with any substance, and as a result has likely lost more votes than he had to begin with.  But, the horse is dead and it's not worth beating it anymore.  At least in my opinion.

Bill will, deservedly so, win this one.

Re: Now is not the time for the same old same old

For the record? I NEVER said "Bill Connolly made racist remarks" I simply stated A CANDIDATE did. Someone a little guilty?

As for me being 19 years old, I don't see how that affects anything. And if you're going to start bringing up the fact that Ally has school aged children? So do you, and I'm around the age of most of them. All I can say is, she most likely isn't letting her teenaged son sit on his fathers property and allow him and all of his high school, underaged friends get drunk at fires down near the Dairy Queen in Clinton, which I know for a fact happen, seeing as I had to pick up a drunken friend, who happens to be related to you through marriage, from one of those fires to bring them home. I could also list off most if not all of the kids who go down there for these fires, seeing as I went to school with every one of them. If you'd like a list, just let me know <3

You might want to take down those signs you have up in Lancaster, Bill. Last time I checked, it was against some rules. But don't worry, I got some pictures.

As for you, Joe Notaro, you might want to be a little more civil next time you're in public. Flipping off Mr. Blake at the Dunkin Donuts infront of passers by? Not the best looking thing in the world.

By the way, theres also something called THINKING FOR YOURSELF. Thats something I like to do, and I voice my own opinions. I don't like being ACCUSED of just doing this for Mr. Blake. As for yourself, Bill, I see your goons are up to no good once again trying to discourage Mr. Blake. Aren't you all about 40 years old? Wow, and I thought the kids I was in High School with were bad. I guess your maturity must DECLINE once you start nearing your 50's.

( Unsubstantiated allegation removed -- Ken )

Thanks!
- Allison

These posts are fantastic and I would expect nothing less from a Clinton Race !!!

The issues continue to get skirted,  Most know who will win and we know that it is not what they stand for it is what their names are.   My hope for the Town of Clinton is reguardless of who gets in or why that they work to the best if their ability to help ALL citizen of Clinton and not just special intrest projects.
