Museum of Russian Icons events

Registration for GED and English classes
Registration for GED and English classes at the Clinton Adult Learning Center will be on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. for evening classes AND Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 9 a.m. for morning classes. In order to be assured a place in class, students must come that night and be prepared to take a 30-minute placement test.

Free diabetes And cholesterol screening
Will be held by the The Clinton Hospital Community Benefits Department on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 7 to 9 a.m. at WHEAT Community Services, 123 High St., Suite 22. To ensure accurate results, individuals must fast and not eat any food for eight hours before the exam. They may, however, drink water. This is open to the public, especially anyone who is uninsured or underinsured. For individuals who need additional health care services and do not have a personal physician, referrals to free area health clinics will be provided. Refreshments will be served. Charity Fashion Show And Ribbon Cutting
To benefit the Item Appeal, will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Clinton Home, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Closet Case Fashions will be having a fashion show and silent auction on all clothing from the show with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Item Appeal. Show music by “Blind Intervention,” with the band donating a portion of the night’s CD sales to the Item Appeal. The admission cost is $10. For more information, contact www.closetcasefashions.com.

St. Mary's Extended Day Preschool Program

Clinton Hospital Foundation's Golf Tournament
The Clinton Hospital Foundation’s Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 2, at the Mount Pleasant Country Club in Boylston. Registration begins at 10 a.m. followed by a barbecue lunch at 11 a.m. A shotgun start will be at 12 p.m. Cocktails and hor d’oeuvres at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and awards at 6 p.m. The cost is $295 per golfer. Olde Home Day 2008
Over the summer months, don't forget about Olde Home Day in September. Mark your Calendars: Friday, September 5th from 5pm to 10pm and Saturday, September 6th from 10am to 4pm. We will be having a movie in Central Park, performance by Stone Clover, food vendors, the Appraisal Faire, Juried Art Show, amusements, Magic Steve, Russian Icon Museum doors will be open, Kid's Korner, Belle from Beauty in the Beast, Pumpernickel Puppets, Irish Step Dancers, Demonstrations by Kwon's Martial Arts, Clinton Turners, there will be crafters, church, school and civic organizations joining us as well as much, much more.... Artists wanted for Olde Home Day
The Clinton Olde Home Day Committee is calling all artists, beginner and experienced levels, for the third annual Juried Art Show. There will also be an 18 years old and under category. Needed are painters (all mediums): sculptors, photographers, etc. The event will be held in Fallon Auditorium on Friday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry fee is $30 for two pieces. Clinton Area Babe Ruth Fall League registration
Any player turning 13 before May 1, 2009 or who will be 15 on or after May 1, 2009 interested in playing fall baseball, contact Jim Ashline at (978) 368-4270. The league begins Saturday, Sept. 6 and goes for eight consecutive weeks with all games being played on Saturdays. Sundays will be used for make-up games. All games will be played at John B. McLaughlin Park in Leominster. Registration fee is $60. Make all checks payable to Clinton Babe Ruth.

Basket Bingo fundraiser
The Clinton Youth Football Program will host a basket bingo fundraiser at the Clinton Lodge of Elks, 128 School St., Clinton, MA, September 12, 2008, doors open at 5:30 pm; early birds begin at 7:00 pm. Over $3,000 in Longaberger baskets, wrought iron and pottery to be given away; Suggested Ticket Donations are $20 each and includes one book of regular games; $5 each for additional books; $5 for five super specials; and $2 for a book of two early birds.
