Twice Told Tales now available
Terry Ingano's new book, "Twice Told Tales," is available. The book, a compilation of columns Terry has written in the Item during the past decade, is $20, and all proceeds benefit the Item Appeal. The books are currently available at The Item office, 156 Church St., Clinton, and will be available at the Holder Memorial, the museum of the Clinton Historical Society, starting Saturday during its annual holiday party. This book makes a great holiday present for any Clintonian - or former Clintonian - on your shopping list!

Upcoming events

Exchange Club golf tournament and fundraiser
On Monday, May 12,2008 the Exchange Club will be holding it's annual "Nine and Dine" golf tournament fundraiser at Sterling National Country Club in Sterling, MA.  100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the local community.  Shotgun start at 3pm, dinner to follow.  $95 per golfer/$35 Dinner Only.  Various sponsorship opportunities still available!  Please call Kelly Tierney at 978-808-7849 for more information or email k.tierney@avidiabank.com

Basket Bingo Fundraiser
The Clinton Middle School seventh grade will Host a Basket Bingo Fundraiser to raise money for their trip to Washington D.C. in November. The event will be held at the Clinton Lodge of Elks, 128 School St., Clinton, MA, May 16, 2008, doors open at 5:30 pm; games begin at 7:00 pm. Over $4,000 in Longaberger baskets, wrought iron and pottery to be given away; Tickets are $20 each and includes one book of regular games; $5 each for additional books; $5 for five specials; and $2 for a book of two early birds. CGCT 6th Annual River Walk
Clinton Greenway Conservation Trust 6th Annual River Walk Sunday, May 18 Join us for an early spring, self-guided river walk on local conservation land along beautiful Nashua River. Choose from a shorter loop or a longer loop, both starting at Water Street Bridge. Followed by light refreshments provided by the Clinton Greenway Conservation Trust. Wear comfortable hiking shoes, long pants, and layers according to the weather. It may be buggy! Depart 1 to 2 p.m. Allow 1 to 2 hours for the walk. More info visit www.clintongreenway.org.

Auditions for "High School Musical"
Clinton Community Theatre Summer Young adult performance announces auditions for Disney's "High School Musical" on Sunday, May 18 at 3pm and Tuesday, May 20 at 6pm. Open call for all roles ages 14-35. Auditions will be held Clinton Town Hall Auditorium, 242 Church Street. You will be taught a song from the show, a dance combination and do a cold reading from the script. Performance dates for the show are July 18, 19, 25 and 26. The class is organizing the reunion for June 7. Needed are photos of downtown Clinton during the 1950s, group photos of youth activities and grammar school student class photos.
